Progress in reforming the Accounting Chamber and the impact of audits on public administration system were the key topics of a recent working meeting between the institution’s leadership, the Audit Board, and the Secretariat of the Ukraine Facility on April 2. This collaboration is crucial for building international partners’ confidence in the oversight of European Union financial assistance in Ukraine.
Among those attending the meeting were Marek Belka, Chair of the Audit Board; Gijs de Vries, Deputy Chair; Gunnar Wälzholz, a Member of the Audit Board; Nils Westphal, Head of the Audit Board Secretariat; and experts. The Accounting Chamber was represented by the institution’s Chairwoman Olha Pishchanska, Deputy Chairman Serhii Kliuchka, members of the Accounting Chamber Kyrylo Klymenko, Gennadiy Plis, and Yelyzaveta Pushko-Tsybuliak, Secretary Vasyl Nevidomyi, and specialists from the institution.

Olha Pishchanska outlined the institution’s progress and challenges on the path to reform. “We are open to cooperation and communication, because our main priority is to build trust in the Accounting Chamber; without it, there will be neither proper consideration of our reports nor effective implementation of our recommendations. In this context, cooperation with the Audit Board and the Secretariat of the Ukraine Facility is important to us,” noted the Chairwoman of the Accounting Chamber.

Members of the Accounting Chamber also presented the results of selected audits, noting their impact on the transformation of public administration processes. For its part, the Audit Board of Ukraine Facility acknowledged the Accounting Chamber’s achievements and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the institution’s continued professional development and reform efforts.
