The auditors of the Accounting Chamber, with the advisory assistance of the experts of the Center for Audit Excellence of the U.S. Government Accountability Office, completed the first stage of the second turn of performance audits on topics relevant to Ukraine and international partners.

Teams of Ukrainian auditors led by members of the Accounting Chamber Viktor Bohun, Gennadiy Plis and Ihor Iaremchuk designed matrices for the relevant audits. In particular, it concerns Ukraine’s restoration in the part of functioning of the Fund for the Elimination of the Consequences of Armed Aggression, measures to protect critical energy infrastructure from air attacks in the war and overcoming the consequences of the disaster at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station as a result of the terrorist attack of the Russian Federation.

This is the next stage in the Accounting Chamber development plan and its capacity enhancement as the Supreme Audit Institution of Ukraine (hereinafter – the SAI of Ukraine) to ensure proper accountability, transparency and efficiency of the use of international partners' funds and the public funds in Ukraine.

This interaction between the SAIs of the United States and Ukraine is facilitated by USAID within the relevant international technical assistance project, as well as under the direct support of the heads of the SAIs of both countries, Gene L. Dodaro and Andrii Maisner.

For today, more than 50 auditors of the Accounting Chamber have been trained and certified by the Centre for Audit Excellence of the U.S. Government Accountability Office as well as have exchanged the practical experience with the American colleagues.
