The Accounting Chamber of Ukraine recently marked its 29th anniversary. Over the years, the institution has audited the effective use of more than UAH 11.7 trillion and approved nearly 2,4 thousand reports, the findings of which have directly influenced government decisions, strengthened the transparency of public finances, and enhanced accountability to citizens.
To mark the occasion, a gathering of representatives of the central and regional offices was held. Among the guests of honour were Ruslan Stefanchuk, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Roksolana Pidlasa, Chairwoman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Budget, and representatives of international partner projects.

At the beginning of the event, participants observed a minute of silence to honour the memory of their compatriots who lost their lives as a result of russian aggression, in particular, colleagues Yurii Storozhev and Valerii Hulyk, who fell defending Ukraine on the front lines.
In his remarks, Chairmanof the VRU Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasized the value of cooperation between Parliament and the Accounting Chamber and the importance of high-quality external financial auditing: «The parliamentary oversight that you help to exercise is extremely important. The most valuable thing we have received from our partners is trust. And you are the guardians of that trust. Thank you for your professional analysis, which formed the basis of the 2026 State Budget adopted in the first reading, as well as for all the areas of auditing that you carry out for Ukrainian society as a whole».

In turn, Olha Pishchanska, Chairwoman of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine, thanked the Parliament for its consistent support and constructive cooperation. She emphasized that the interaction between the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine today takes place in a true team format. She thanked every employee for their contribution to shared achievements and stressed that the institution continues to develop and strengthen its position precisely thanks to the coordinated work of the team.
«Nowadays, we have both those who were there at the very beginning of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine and those who joined the team quite recently. Together, we are shaping a new audit culture and a new approach to public accountability. Our strength lies in combining institutional experience with new ideas. We have unique expertise, professionals who know, remember, and share their experience, and those who bring a modern vision. This is what enables us to move forward quickly and confidently. I sincerely thank each of you for your work. Despite the challenges that, unfortunately, have become part of our daily reality, you demonstrate incredible resilience and high results. Your professionalism and dedication are inspiring», – addressed the team Olha Pishchanska.

The Chairwoman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Budget, Roksolana Pidlasa, noted the qualitative results of the reform of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine, in particular the strengthening of its role at the national and international levels.
«Over nearly three decades, the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine has established itself as an independent constitutional body of external financial control (audit) that safeguards the Ukrainian budget. The results of reform and your current work are now particularly noticeable. First of all, the quality of audit reports has improved significantly. Members of Parliament are paying more attention to them, reading and quoting them at sessions of the Verkhovna Rada and committees. Overall, you have become more open and public. I am very pleased with this progress», - summarized Roksolana Pidlasa.
During the event, Ruslan Stefanchuk awarded some of the representatives of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine with the Honorary Diploma and Certificates of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and the Letter of Appreciation from the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
