Ways to increase the impact of audits at various stages of their implementation were the focus of a workshop held on December 2-5 in Istanbul (Turkey). This is the first in a series of training events organized within the EUROSAI* Development Activities Project under the leadership of the National Audit Office of the Kingdom of Sweden in cooperation with the SIGMA Project.

The meeting was attended by representatives of 11 supreme audit institutions, including Ukraine, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, North Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, and others.
The discussion focused on increasing the impact of audits by improving their planning, reporting, recommendations, communication with audited entities, parliament, and the public, as well as approaches to audit quality control and the use of artificial intelligence in audit work.

Representatives of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine shared their experience with colleagues, in particular, on the formulation of audit recommendations and ensuring their implementation, improving cooperation with the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, visualizing audit results, and implementing quality control within the institution.
Based on the results of the discussions, SAI Sweden will develop plans for further cooperation and support for SAI participants in the project.
As a reminder, on 15–17 September, as part of a knowledge-exchange visit, a delegation of the Accounting Chamber led by Chairperson Olha Pishchanska visited the National Audit Office of the Kingdom of Sweden.
* The EUROSAI Development Activities Project covers the period 2024–2030 and aims to strengthen the capacity of supreme audit institutions eligible for official development assistance as defined by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
